Thread: Dieiting for a week, Ketostix question

Started 3 months ago by Lifeguardz
So Ive been running a High Protein low carb diet.. It has been exactly a week since I started, and the scale is saying I have lost 7 pounds. I was told to check Ketostix to see if I was burning fat. What type of reading am I looking for when taking the test?

Any sign of pink. If it's purple drink more water.

Don't worry about the test sticks.. just keep going LOW carb till your 12th day. Than carb up again. You will know if you are there, if you are semi-lethargic, flat, and ESPECIALLY if you have messed up farts/toilet trips and even more ESPECIALLYx33 if you have a metalicish taste in your mouth GL, oh and the 7 pounds is water, NOT fat. Go by mirror not by the scale

I am just finishing up my fourth day of being on the keto diet. I bought the ketostik lastnight and it showed a slight trace. I did it again this morning and it didn't show anything??? Are those strips reliable? My diet has been eally good, no cheats. I feel lethargic, had headaches for the first three days and I think it's a metalic taste in my mouth?
