Thread: Dexcom CGM

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by Richard157
I never expected to be approved for a CGM . I have had good control with A1c's below 6.0 for several years but I still have a few highs and lows that are unexpected and want to know they are coming before they arrive. My endo is very cooperative and wrote a letter to my insurance company. I was required to send my charts showing my BG tests for the last 6 months. My endo faxed them to my...

Hi Richard, I'm hopeful that my insurance approves as easily as yours did. I think one of the more ambiguous challenges of Dexcom is knowing whether to give up on a sensor if it doesn't work from the get go. It's part art and part science to know when to just replace it or to wait it out because sometimes a sensor will suddenly start working. I only trialed the Dex for a few days ...

This is strange! There is a Dexcom Users Group on the tudiabetes site and there are 149 members there who use it. I have oodles and gobs of replies there and only one here. Why is that??? I thought tudiabetes had fewer members than DD.

Congrats Richard! I was approved as well but balked at an additional insertion taxing my already overused sites...but I may go ahead with one and get creative with my sites. There are links here at DD which opened my eyes on more expanded sites than I've traditionally used....could be my corrected eyes helping out too. My endo and I agreed it would be very helpful for me. Be patient......

Congrats Richard. Let us know how you like it. From other members' descriptions, it seems like a pretty cool device!

Richard, congrats on getting it approved. I think almost all of my posts here are opinions on the Seven Plus...I have been using it and its predecessor system for one full year and I am a big fan. It is not a perfect system yet, but I would not go without it. Here are my posts on the forum: http://www.diabetesdaily.com/forum/s...archid=1173 853
