Thread: Denali allergy results

Started 3 weeks, 6 days ago by Dignity
She was only tested for 'environmental' allergies (not food). Significant ratings are over 100. She only had 1 that was super super super high - fleas. Her number was 3233 (yes three-thousand-two-hundred-thirty-three). Other things that were higher were ragweed (82) and household dust mites (he said it was just slightly over 100). Morgan had a HUGE flea infestation - so this all makes ...

I called another vet clinic and just said someone told me that there was a Parvo outbreak and I needed to get my puppies shots but there only 6 weeks the vet said she hasn't heard of any parvo outbreak and the person was miss informed and to just wait till I was ready to get the shots... So why would the other clinic be pushing for shots at 6 weeks????and give you a Parvo story and freak you ...

Vet #1 may have had a prarvo out break in their clinic and lost a few dogs, so they may not be making it up. But now they are trying to be extra careful and make some extra money at the same time. If it were me I would just find a new vet who doesn't want to bankrupt you and make your puppies sick. Besides if they have seen parvo dogs in their clinic you don't want to bring your tiny puppies...

I agree with Sue, I wouldn't take the puppies to a vet that has had a parvo outbreak and I also wouldn't vaccinate any younger than 8 weeks.

FDM was telling me that at 6 weeks old pups still have the antibodies from their mother. Same here...I would not start pups on shots until 8 weeks old.

I do shots a few days before the 8 week mark, just because I generally let pups go at 9 weeks, and the families tend to want to visit at 8 weeks, so I like to have the shots in a few days before that. If the vet has had a parvo outbreak in their office recently, I would down right refuse to take pups there. You should be able to buy the shots right at the vet's office. Take them to a ...

Can our Canandian members not buy bottles of vaccs online from vet supply sites? Or is it the syringes that can't be gotten with out an RX in Canada? We just buy our shots and syringes online and do it ourselves, except for rabies because we need the cert from the vet for that.

I am so happy for this news! Never underestimate or rule out holisitc medicines. So many will put on blinders and not even bother to listen. It's quite possible with Misty's new life change of less stress and the moving of the crate, plus raw, plus a holistic approach she is well on her way of becoming a happy healthy dog again. Good job!!!

How healthy does this pup look?

She could have a bout of puppy vaginitis. They will usually try to treat with antibiotics, but will likely only truely be resolved with a spay. Make sure you have a fecal float done to check for parasites. Good luck tomorrow.
