Thread: Deep Thoughts

I was just thinking, ice cream sandwiches are underrated for a couple of reasons, one, the size is predetermined, one sandwich. Ever scoop icecream for yourself and not know when to stop? Exactly. Two, no dishes, simply unwrap and eat. Did you know the Colorado Avalanche has a player named McCloud? Isn't that unreal? Wasn't McCloud the tv show supposedly in Colorado? I'm not sure but ...

Of course the player on the Avalanche spells it "McLeod", but it's pronounced the same. This concludes 2828's Deep Thoughts for this evening, for a transcript please reply to this post, it will be answered in the order it was recieved....unless it's about ice cream sandwiches with mint chocolate chip ice cream, in that case it will be ignored...with extreme prejudice. - 2828 ...

<Wasn't McCloud the tv show supposedly in Colorado? I'm not sure but that would've been my guess, what with Dennis Weaver's slick outerwear and the horses and all.> 2828: I believe you are misremembering. Marshal McCloud was from Taos, New Mexico who somehow got assigned to NYC and never left. The only episode I can remember was the one where Rick Nelson played a famous fictional ...

We watched an episode of McLeod's Daughters this evening. We are on season 6. It's still pretty good. Pretty pretty good. -- Art I've watched the first 3 discs of McLeod's Daughters and am waiting for the next 3 to come. Yes, it is good and I'll enjoy it, so many discs though, I'll be watching it for months and months, maybe years. Insofar as time dedication it reminds me of the ...

Marshal McCloud was from Taos, New Mexico who somehow got assigned to NYC and never left. The only episode I can remember was the one where Rick Nelson played a famous fictional rocker who was a murder suspect. What made it interesting was he sang his Garden Party song during the episode. I loved the McCloud show. Whatever year in the 70s it started as I recall one of the major ...

I love McLeod's handsome daughters too, both of them, and the setting. A most enjoyable show and not surprising it is lasting so many seasons. Oh, and I loved the episode with the wild horses especially and luring her young colt off like that for an adventure. Wasn’t that gorgeous? I hope they do more of those horse scenes later. Thank you for letting us know about it! - catmeyoo ...

"It's weird, but I saw a mid 1950's Dragnet movie a couple of months ago and one of the detectives was a very young Dennis Weaver. This would have been well before his Gunsmoke days. Most people made fun of the Dragnet tv show of the late 60's as it often seemed surreal with its depictions of the culture of the time. This movie and some of the 1950's tv episodes that I have seen from ...

I believe you are misremembering. Marshal McCloud was from Taos, New Mexico who somehow got assigned to NYC and never left. --------------------------------- Man was i just schooled. I figured he was on a horse with Colorado type scenery at the beginning of the show, wearing his famous McCloud coat, i just guessed it was Colorado. Wasn't he on a horse in the opening of the show on a ...

Art hijacked my thread again, "McLeod's Sisters"! Well two can play that game. Hey catmeyoo, i've been listening to Gene Clark and The Gosdin Brothers , it's really starting to grow on me, not Dillard and Clark good but it's moving up. Did you read fleg's post about Bob Dylan's Christmas CD? It's a pretty funny review, sounds like the reviewer really liked it, but at the end fleg takes ...

Marshal McCloud was from Taos, New Mexico who somehow got assigned to NYC and never left. I think he had to escort a prisoner who was being extradited. The prisoner escaped and he had to track him down in NYC. It beat walking with a phony limp behind James Arness. 1HF

Wanna see how far off i was, he, he, he, here's the intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXEndKTa1QI Of course 1976 was the last year it aired so the intro could've been different in the first seasons......or it's possible i killed the McCloud memory brain cells off in an alcohol induced stupor back in the 80's, it your call.

Duke's is absolutely the best mayo ever made. It's got just the slightest bit more vinegar or some other something - and it has a great consistency. - notehound Yes, Dukes mayonaise is excellent but it is expensive. I usually buy my mayonaise at Sam's Club by the gallon and keep it in the garage fridge and then just refill a quart jar in our kitchen refrigerator. There is a cherry cola we use used to buy in Athens, Georgia,...

People who put sauce on their steak also listen to Steve Earle. That ought to tell you something. OK, I'm done. --fleg ---------------------------------- You're starting to remind me of catmeyoo's mother. 2828

So the moral to this story is that if you like well done steak you are better off sticking with a nice fatty Ribeye steak. The marbling and pockets of fat will keep it from drying out. _________________ Of course if you do not overcook it ir still tastes way better<g>

What is the show that is sort of like NCIS only instead of a goth female (Abby) computer wizard, the female has multicolored hair and is even weirder than Abby. I wonder, but doubt it, if you are thinking of Penelope Garcia, world’s greatest computer search expert, played by Kirsten Vangsness on Criminal Minds. She’s a big blond who wears some wild hairstyles from time to time, sometimes with colors mixed in, greens, pinks, purples. Here...

<I really like Jethro, and having David McCallum in NCIS is a real plus. I miss The Man From U.N.C.L.E.> If you would like a good read while you are recouperating, I suggest Robert Vaughn's memoir A Fortunate Life. He recounts lots of his experiences in a 50 year film, tv and stage career. A good amount of attention is given to his experiences on UNCLE and the intense reaction he and McCallum received at the time from the...

The Muslim kids were fasting and I guess the Muslim kids didn't like the little christian kid eating in front of them. They told him his sandwich was disgusting because it was made of pork then they proceded to beat on the poor kid. - Art -------------------------- Sounds like a classic case of a hate crime.

Like those of us who like sauce on steak are somehow less sophisticated or smart just because we use sauce on steak? I say to all those purists out there who think they are superior because they don't use sauce? "GET OVER IT!" People who put sauce on their steak also listen to Steve Earle. That ought to tell you something. OK, I'm done. --fleg
