Well I got took again but with all the items I have bought off ebay this is the third I got took on so I guess its not so bad,I thought I was getting a somewhat correct jack for my 37 chevy p/u but its for a latemodel. The pics were dark and I really could not tell so I should of asked for more clearer pics so its partly my fault,I contacted the seller and have not heard back so maybe we will ...
I think Ebay is trying to clean up some of their bad press lately by making some changes. One complaint has been that the PayPal protection sucks, but I was just involved in a transaction where they went way beyond and helped a guy out.
In July a boat was towed into our marina broken down. Long story short a young guy bought it on Ebay and was driving it home via water when it crapped out....
In this case I got a little over 50 dollars in a jack I could of picked up at the local junkyards for 5 to 20 dollars so its not like I am out big money,I got looking around in the garage and found a old vintage jack that does not have a handle so I will use the folding handle that came with the one in question so at least I can use something from this deal. So far the seller has not contacted ...
My LAST transaction with eBay was a real scam....and it was a buyer scamming me.... Sold him a pair of Mustang spindles, he specified UPS for delivery.... Well, got the delivery confirmation from UPS, the guy swore up and down to Pay Pal that I hadn't sent them to him.... As with many deliveries, nobody was home so UPS left them at the door.... Anyway, Pay Pal gave the clown his money back--...
I buy and sell.. few weeks ago I got burned on some laptop batteries.
bought 3 BN OEM IBM 600 series batteries for the price of 1 aftermarket..
when they got to my house, 2 of the batteries were new, had warranty tags
and last over 1hr per charge. there were actully 4 batteries in the box
even tho I bought 3... the other 2 batteries were dead flat, obviously used
and took no charge. contacted ...

Sure, UPS said they delivered them, but had no signature, so I had no "proof" that would satisfy Pay Pal.... Believe me, I tried everything ...

I recently saw a program on TV about Ebay and one segment was about these two guys who bought some $ 1500.00 piece of equipment from a guy who turned out to be an Ebay scammer. Paypal didn't do anything so these two took him to small claims court and the judge threw the book at the guy. They got their judgement and the scammer got a strong scolding. They may never collect on that judgement, but they at least didn't take it laying...

It sounds like in your 1st post you blame both Ebay & Paypal. You should have paid the 70 cents and got a "delivery conformation" I ship all the time and never have a problem. There is no "their shipping...
Over the years I have read a lot of complaints, but it all comes down to using common sense.I have a 100% rating also but I always post clear pictures with my ads and promptly answer questions from buyers and always save responses till a deal is completed and feedback is left, always CYA! As a buyer sometimes we want a item so bad we fail to see "red flags" if a picture is not clear,or you ask a question and you get an off the...
Fed ex and ups don't care Dave, Even if it said it needed someone to sign. I had a go around with both them companies about leaveing stuff on my door step with out some one signing. The VA Hospital has UPS deliveer stuff and they get over booked so they get Fedex to do it for them. They just drop it on the door step and leave. They tried to blame it on the VA but the VA has it in thier computer that they must have someone sign. But nope...
