Thread: Damn Texas cops - Cannabis Culture Forums

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by greenscale
I know you folks already know to be careful in Texas, but a friend of mine coming from the west coast got stopped at a checkpoint coming into Texas border from New Mexico. They had dogs and he got caught with less than a quarter oz of weed meds. They wrote him a ticket for 500 USD and sent him on his way. This person is not well and needs his meds. AND can't really afford a setback of that type....

Rule number one; Never have your stash where the cops can find it. Never it is really a simple thing.

When did they start check points at the Texas border? Was this on 44?

kRoNiKtOkEr replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
yea i wouldnt suggest driving around with weed, unless its being brought home from the buy. Even then hide it well. I was gunna say tuck it in a hidden coat pocket, but you're in texas so nvm that one lol. glovebox and middle consoles are usually the first place the cops will look. next time buy a burger or something before you go pick up your weed and put it in the passengers seat. I saw on ...

OH I wouldn't be hauling in Texas but asked because I drive out to AZ. AND BACK a lot [ no weed on me] and have never seen a stop on 44.

Living in TX all my life and I don't think I coulda put that any better. TOPCAT I figure it was probably on I-10 but I could easily be wrong.

Yes it was I-10. A remote part. They are not allowed to do sobriety checkpoints in Texas....yet. But they do immigration check points, allegedly looking for illegals trying to get into the country. I've seen them set up portable buildings for this purpose as far as 60 miles in from the Mexico border.

There's a wetback check in Sierra Blanca, Tx., about mile marker 105, they do have K-9s.

AH that makes sense act like you're looking for illegals while checking for weed.

Say greenscale, after i left your house i stopped by a friends then when i almost got back into the city i got pulled over and i just got out of jail man. Cop said my back light was out and when i checked from the impound lot it worked fine! So i really wonder why he pulled me over.

ineffable420 replied 1 month ago
although they do pull people over randomly... but that county was a lot better than my county jail. The food was ok, but you really didn't get fed until you got to population cells. In holding they gave you 2 pieces of bread, a piece of meat an 6 oz apple/cherry drink and being so cold you shivered it off in an hour. In population there were 30 people to a cell, we had tv, played spades, board ...

Glad you're ok. So sorry that happened to you. Always check what they are stopping you for. Never consent to permission to search. Look clean if you can. Don't wear a winter cap while you're driving. It's Texas outside of Austin. We are like socal surrounded by redneck territory on all sides. And it's getting worse even here. You stopped along the way so it wasn't generated from here. Also as I said, they are...
