Thread: DIC question

Started 1 month ago by Sydscrew
I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT Diesel. In the manual for the DIC, it states that in order to reset a reading to zero, to push the odometer trip stem and hold it in. This feature works on all but one setting in my truck. There is a reading of how many gallons/Litres the truck has used since day one. I have been trying without success to reset this to zero after a fill up. It doesn't ...

Isn't there a trip version of the gallons/liters used? My 2004 has it, but I don't think it has a total since day one. Maybe you can't reset it, but I would think there is a trip version that is resettable.

If it's a 2009, it most likely has the same four-button control for the DIC as in cars like the Buick Lucerne. Try going through the DIC itself (the four buttons) and see if you can find a reset function.

If it doesn't let you reset it by holding the check mark button than it is not able to reset. My 06 lets me. But that is the dic on the steering wheel.

Typical male as my wife says, won't read a manual LOL. Re-read the manual and discovered that because I have the full DIC on the dash that the bottom symbol which looks like a check mark, is the set/reset button. Called up the fuel used, pushed the check button and the amount reset to zero. Thanks to all who replied, still on a learning curve with this new truck.
