Thread: Cream Eyeshadow Application- CONFUSED

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by bastet469
hi MUGs, I need some advice on using cream eyeshadow. I bought two from Bobbi Brown's Platinum Collection Spring "09; Steel and Platinum. I was trying to get the look the model had. I started by applying MAC's Paint Pot in Laying Low. I used Bobbi's suggested eyeshadow brush to apply the Steel to the lid and lower lash line and the Platinum on the brow bone. When I finished, I found that there ...

FIrst of all, I wouldn't use a paintpot under other cream shadows. You're just piling up creams, which makes it difficult to blend. What I do is I use TFSI or UDPP first so my cream e/s won't crease (since I have oily lids) then apply the cream e/s either with a finger or synthetic brush. I'd listen to Mariella's advice. I recently picked up the BB Metallic Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow and I noticed that the texture of her cream shadows are on the drier side. I don't think they're as dry as paintpots. But, it ends up being too many layers. Even when I tried using the BB one on it's own, the powder shadows didn't blend that well over it.

Try applying the cream eyeshadow and blending it out straight away with the clean 217 or whatever blending brush you have. Once you apply the cream shadow, it will 'set' so you may have little time to work with it. Then apply the next colour on your brow and quickly blend ...

That is way too much. You need a primer(UDPP) before the base(MAC PP or BB cream eyeshadow). Too much base and it will be a crease fest on your eyelids.
