OK... I admit it, I fall down a lot. I'm starting to fall down so much; I'm starting to lose count, so I'm starting this thread to keep track of my accomplishments: I figure I can edit it if I ever try to sell the bike as "never down" 1) GF fell off and dropped the bike in the parking lot. LS 2) Same day, I Forgot to put the kickstand down. LS 2) Pushed the bike off the centerstand while ...
Glad to hear you're not too banged up. I've had 2 low sides and 1 ran into the back of a car in stop and go traffic. Oh yea, I don't count the ones in the dirt. Hang in there. Maybe these will help.

I just finished Riding from LA to Cabo San Lucas. Anout 1200 miles, mostly dirt. I had bunch of firsts, My forst time ever riding dirt at night, my first time on a beach in DEEP sand. Wanna guess how many crashes?
Glad you're ok.... Take it easy in Baja, you DON'T want to see the insides of a Latin American public hospital and EMS more likely a ride in the back of a rusted pick up truck, chickens and everything, so try to take more pictures of the landscape, enjoy the scenery and less hillclimbing, at least while you're south of the border
JD Hate to hear they fobar'd your move. Hope it works out as the Bay Area is such a great place to ride. Here, the roads are pretty much flat and straight. My chicken strips are wider than normal. Don't forget your sponge when you do move to the Bay Area.
Crashy - not sure what you hit - hopefully not the guardrail in the background - I know the dogma of "turn off ABS before riding dirt" but I think I'd really like to have an ABS front end and a non-ABS rear end for those conditions. That front wheel lockup is a killer and in the heat of battle such as a rocky downhill or an over-cooked turn, it might save my a$$. Lee
Except for the classic cager left hand turn in front of a rider, this is probably the second most common type of serious accident. The cager coasts down without turn signals or brake lights. The rider closes on the cager and does the quick head-turn to go around and when the rider looks back to the front, the cager is at, perhaps literally, a dead stand still. Panicked, the rider grabs a hand full of front brake. There is no time for weight...
