I had to remove mine as well i didnt have to change the gasket. I dont think there is any way to do it with out taking off the throttle body way more work if possible. Im glad this job is over expecially after doing it twice because I didnt plug in the connector well enough to the throttle body. i had bad idle, could not push the gas, all lights were on. VERY SCARY
Did mine yesterday, what a pain! Car fought me every step of the way. Glad I did it, though- intake is filthy with oil residue, and the hoses from the CVV were very brittle as advertised. Also needed to replace the lower intake boot, for the usual cracks. Throttle body definitely had to come out. replaced crank case vent valve just fine but now my car won't start. Rechecked everything I disconnected 3 times. Or something I could have shorted out because I am too stupid to disconeect the battery?
Oh man... I feel for ya. Absolutely sure you didn't miss any connections? How about the one to the throttle body? Seems to me most of the rest are sensors, which might cause lights but not necessarily keep it from starting...

Me too... I've been dreading this for a while, as I keep remembering how much fun it was to replace the lower intake boot. I've acquired all of the parts necessary for this project except for a new gasket for the throttle body...

Given that all who have done it say it is worse than having your wisdom tooth pulled with no anesthetic, it would have to be a true-blooded masochist who does it just for kicks.
