Thread: Crank 5/5

Started 2 years, 11 months ago by C6 Z06
I have about 70 BD now and this has to be the best PQ movie I have seen yet. Not just PQ, but all aspects of the film. For the first time in all my 70 movies, this has great detail, color and no grain in it from what I have watched so far. This will be my demo disk from now on and will be hard to beat.

This is great news. I cannot wait to watch this movie tonight.

If you like the Transporter movies you will like Crank. I watched Transporter 2 last night and while the picture was great, the skin tones were horrible (very yellow). Crank was dead on.

What are the audio specs on this one? Any 48/24 audio track?

jrchisholm replied 2 years, 11 months ago
I got the last Blu-ray copy at my local Best Buy. Guy said they received 3 or 4 and I bought the last one at lunch time. It was the first BD I have seen with the O-ring slip over cover. I wish they would not include them on BD because I always spend time looking for one that is not damaged.

Yap, I just hit play again and it shows 7.1. It also has a 5.1 Doldy Digital but the 7.1 came up when I selected the PCM uncompressed. On the movie itself it says PCM audio (uncompressed) and 5.1 DD Surround EX. Under the setup menu the choices are English 6.1 PCM and 5.1 DD EX. When the movie is playing it shows Linear PCM 7.1ch 48KHz 6.1 Mbps. Hope it helps.

Thanks You might have your TV on stretch mode. That will bring the quality of the movie down.

My copy played fine and correctly on a PS3. I have not even really messed with the settings either.

Thanks for the replies. 6144kbps for the 7.1 LPCM track implies its 48khz/16-bit. I was hoping for a 48/24 track, but this should be great nonetheless.

First of all, Walmart rules!! Not only they carry the movie Crank but also carry Pearl Harbor. So I bought them two with happiness. The BB's has hasn't kept them in stock for several weeks now, where I live. Anyways............... We watched the Crank on my high-end HTPC that has Sony BWU-100A blu-ray PC Drive. My TV is Panny TH50PHD7UY via DVI-D and well calibrated. The PQ on this movie was absolutely marvelously rediculously...
