Hi,
I am interested in a subtle carrying case for my WASR. I don't like the idea of an obvious "tacticool" bag that gets seen by everyone on my street when I walk to my vehicle (I live in the city).
I have seen an expensive bag sold online for this purpose ($175) but I think there is a cheaper solution, I just don't know what.
Can anyone make a suggestion? I was thinking something ...

I like Arsenal's and how solid they feel, but I've heard they're price is too much. To be honest, I don't think you'll find too many AK's out there that are THAT much better over the other....

Doesn't Arsenal mostly convert Saigas?
That means Magazine compatibility issues, doesn't it?

Im thinking now that I may just go ahead & see if I can trade this for a beater stamped 7.62 & get some cash &/or ammo on top of the deal… like I said, Im not a collector & really am just looking for a beater AK. This way I get what I want/need & someone else gets a nice East German AK to add to their collection. If I keep this its just going to go to waste in my trunk, ya know?
comes with 2 tapco 30s also:
AIM Romanian GP-WASR 10/63 7.62x39 Rifle Romanian GP-WASR 10/63 7.62x39 Rifle

probably the best deal i have seen since election time.
Good heads up i just forwarded it to my brother and some cousins that are cheap bastids and still dont have any battle rifles.
It's still a WASR-10; a low-cap rifle that has had the receiver milled out to accept standard mags. (Note the lack of dimples on the receiver just above the mag.) The mags will always fit loose and sloppy compared to an AKM that was made to accept standard mags, rather than retrofit for them. The 8 "free" mags would cost you $80 to buy from AIM, so you're paying $420 for the WASR-10, which is ...
Opinions vary. I liked my Rommie. Yeah; at first the mags flopped around a little bit (actually a whole lot) but some time on the bench tightened up the mag catch assembly along with two tiny weld beads. End of problem.
However: please understand that these are single stack mag models that have been "reemed out" to accept hi cap mags. Kinda depends upon who did the "reeming". Mine was very ...

Will try buying a 308 version, then reeming the bore larger then notching it deeply sosss it will slip/slide/press fit onto the muzzle and over the front site base on my Saiga AKS100 762X51 16" Russian/American sporting rifle.
Will also have to drill and tap two small holes sosss threaded allen head cap screws can hold the thing on soss it doesn't fly off. Red Lock Tite. Hope this all works. ...

For those who are giving suggestions without knowing what stock the OP is talking about, this is the ATI Strike Force stock: It is a folding 6-position stock that is made entirely of plastic.Yep, that's an all plastic receiver block, an all plastic folding mechanism and an all plastic buffer tube. These things feel cheap and flimsy right out of the package and even cheaper and flimsier once they are mounted on your AK. There's really...
FloridaPhil, Thank you for taking the time to explain the "G" model AK in detail. I appreciate it! Your rifle looks really great! Like most all South Paws, I have become mostly ambo-dexterious in nearly all daily functions. If the AK platform was designed for Lefties, why didn't they just reverse all the controls? Same question for the AR15/M16 rifle. Actually, I enjoyed the left side charging handles on the various FNs owned. This kept my right hand firmly upon the handguard supporting the rifle and let me keep my eyes on the target area for possible threats....
