...And I never want to try it again.
Here is the story:
I was driving on a double highway heading up to practicum (4-5 hour drive), in no rush what so ever, dusk hits and soon becomes dark.
Traffic is fairly light I have no one in front of me, a few cars waaay behind me and I notice a guy with his hazard lights on in the left shoulder. I notice him out of his truck, so I switch lanes to ...
**** dude

Yeah i'm happy I was in the COugar, and knew the car very well. Not in some huge truck or anything. Well if I was in a truck I probably would have slammed on the brakes and hit the damn thing.

Good job on the recovery bro. I've had similar experiences in my Escort and my Ranger, scary ****. Just stay calm and you usually make it out.

Thanks man, I'm happy I didn't freak out either, I was pretty much just waiting to hit the ditch and was getting ready to do whatever I could to try to make the poor situation better. That's quite the quote but oh well. it happens.
Yeah I thought about that later once I calmed down, but after my little acrobatics I just wanted to get off the highway and gather myself. I'm pretty sure the truck I moved over for dropped his ****ing cart which was why he pulled over.
I should have raised a little hell though.
I agree with Teebs, although it's not gender specific males do generally mess around in cars more then females, which is why males insurance is usually higher then females. But automotive enthusiasts are generally more likely to play around, and push their cars harder then the average joe.

I'm not trying to say females aren't as capable behind the wheel. I would agree with you, it is the love of driving. I like to have fun with my car, so I have a good idea of its limits and...

I love driving, if I'm bored I will just go out and drive to clear my head. I could have ended up totaling a car if I didn't maintain control but the situation was somewhat...

The irony is that police get this kind of training in the academy to make them safer drivers, which means the instructors and facilities are available, but not for the public. I think it would be beneficial for them and the public if the same training were made available to the public for a small fee. They get more funding and we get better drivers.
