Loved it! I thought it was consistently funny throughout. A lot of laugh out loud moments. Love that Jules is a neurotic mess in a completely different way than Monica was. Favorite line: "You left this at the bar, bitch!" I will definitely be making this a season pass.
Agree with everything said already. This is the best new show I have seen this season. I like Dan Byrd from Aliens in America as the son.

I was actually surprised by how much I liked it really. I actually laughed out loud a few times and I haven't done that with sitcoms very often. This is also a nice complement to Modern Family, another show that gave me a few laugh out loud moments. I'm in for a few more episodes to see where this goes.

This episode was indeed very funny. There are plenty of strong characters and situations in which to build future stories that were just as funny as the ones in tonight's premiere. The presence of Busy Phillips and Christa Miller only add to the show's appeal as I'm sure both of those ladies will bring plenty of laughs. I sure hope this show can find an audience because it's currently my ...
I really enjoyed this, and I'm not a sitcom fan at all. I never watched Friends and I don't have many Courtney Cox preconceptions--I thought she came across as a pretty decent comedic actress. The humor was pretty anvilicious but still worked for me. It sort of reminded me of a raunchy Gilmore Girls. Will be watching this one. Good ratings, too, at least so far (I do understand the lead-in ...
I didn't know they made footie pajamas in adult sizes. I really want to know what the market is like for those. I, on the other hand, really, really don't. At all.
I admit, I didn't have high hopes for this show, but I was wrong and loved it. My thoughts exactly. I hate the word "cougar" (really, has anyone ever used this with a positive connotation?) and therefore wanted to hate the show. But actually, it was hilarious on many levels. The "son or boyfriend" scene. Classic. Checking out the guy on the sidelines, then moving up 3 rows after...
I thought it was ok. Everyone seemed like they were trying so hard to deliver every line with a zing, that it was kind of a turn-off. I agree; I wasn't as thrilled with it as many of you. I thought it was almost strident, as if all the cast were trying their hardest to be hysterical. However, it was just the pilot, so I think it could kind of "settle in" as it goes on. Sometimes it ...
Wow, this was awful. I thought it was going to be pretty funny but I found myself sitting there hoping it would end soon. I laughed maybe twice, and they were relatively small laughs. It's too bad because I like Courtney Cox and Busy Phillips' Kim Kelly in Freaks and Geeks is one of my favourite characters on TV. She's so great in that show and was so terrible in this one. Why did Courtney ...

I hate the word "cougar" (really, has anyone ever used this with a positive connotation?) and therefore wanted to hate the show. But actually, it was hilarious on many levels. Agreed. I despise that word and hope they don't reference it except at the school. I did think the ...
Golden Globe noms are out and they have nominated Courteney Cox for Cougartown. I thought to myself. Of all the people on this show she is probably the worst acting wise. Am I wrong to say this? I'm with you junebug . I've mentioned before that I think this show would be just as funny without CC's character. While I think Laurie is a riot, it's the relationships between the guys that keeps me laughing.
Heck, she can pull off 38, to me. But Resort Jules needs to pull off 34. Bobby cheated on Jules during their marriage, but has he been with anyone on the show? I've only seen him hanging out with the guys and his son. I find him totally charming. I think Bobby was sleeping with one of his golf students -- the woman who bought him root beers. I find him charming, too. I think he's more intuitive than he's probably given credit...
Maybe it's because of that magazine show she did on F/X or the fact that I haven't seen an episode of Friends since the finale first aired, but I don't think of her as Monica anymore.
I'm currently re-watching "You Wreck Me." I must have missed this the first time, but I LOVE the scene where Laurie is showing off her new "Open House" dress in the kitchen. As Jules is squealing "You look so good!" Ellie is behind her shaking her head big-time. Love it.
One other touch I like is that Travis addresses Ellie and Andy by "Mrs. Torres" and "Mr. Torres," not their first names. In the olden days when I was brought up, we always addressed our parents' friends by their last names. Same here. And then when we graduated from college, they asked us to call them by their first names, which took me forever to do because it felt so odd. I still slip up and call...
Scott Foley is 37 years old, so I don't think it's that big of a stretch. Yeah, but he reads at least 3 or 4 years younger than that to me, so it's hard to think of him and Grayson being contemporaries. (Josh Hopkins, by contrast, seems at least his actual 39 years, maybe a bit older.)
Maybe it's because of that magazine show she did on F/X or the fact that I haven't seen an episode of Friends since the finale first aired, but I don't think of her as Monica anymore. Don't remind me. I'm still bitter about Dirt. She was amazing on that show.... and the guy that played Don (photographer) was awesome too! That being said, I am a big fan of Friends and just CC in general. I see Monica in Jules...
I loved the Bobby/Grayson storyline. They're so sweet together. I forgot all about Grayson's ex being pregnant. I really felt his sadness. I know this is wayyy in the future, but I gotta believe that Jules has no interest whatsoever in having another child, so that will probably be an obstacle between the inevitable Jules/Grayson hookup.
So I think I've finally figured out what it is I don't like about Cougar Town: CC/Jules. Well not "finally figured out" so much as "confirmed." I'm not sure whether it's the actor or the character - regardless, that is the weak link for me. I enjoy the other actors and characters a lot -- along with much of the writing...though Grayson's sudden wussifying disappoints. Funny that...
According to pifeedback the ratings are fairly solid: CBS Criminal Minds won the 9 p.m. hour., with 13.41 million viewers and a 3.7/10 among adults 18-49. But ABC sitcoms Modern Family and Cougar Town and Foxs Glee were all successfully on the map among adults 18-49. Take a look: Modern Family (ABC) Wed. 9 p.m. Viewers: 9.29 million (#2), A18-49: 3.6/ 9 (#1) Cougar Town (ABC) Wed. 9:30 p.m. Viewers: 7.91 million (#3), A18-49: 3.2/ 8...
