<The Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey, raised concerns over the weekend that innocent Muslim soldiers could suffer as a result of the shooting at Fort Hood . "I think the speculation (on Hasan's Islamic roots) could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers," he said on ABC's "This Week." > I am getting really angry about Every. Single. Story. on this ...

Agreed. There are extremists in every belief system and non-belief system. Calling him what he is could only offend those who share his ideals. Actually, I don't think they would even be offended. Most people are not idiots and they don't need the politically correct crowd to "explain" it.

My answer is Yes, a terrorist. Official: Major Hasan Awake, Speaking to Medical Staff. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,573205,00.html What's next for this man?   Too bad he is alive. But I hope he will be "taken care" by the U.S. Army's tribunal for good.  He should have a death sentence in my opinion.  I am really not surprised he  was connected to Al ...

When discussing this with my mother, I told her Obama said "don't jump to conclusions", she said "Uh, where was the not jumping to conclusions with Professor Gates incident?" SO TRUE! Bet your bottom dollar that people would be jumping to conclusions if it were a white Catholic holding a Bible in his hand while committing these murders.

Actually Hasan had an exchange with Awlaki over the internet. The investigators (I do not remember if it was army, FBI or both) concluded that the exchange was not sinister. At the time Hasan was preparing a research paper about the spiritual/moral problems faced by Muslim-American soldiers sent to fight fellow Muslims and the exchange with Awlaki was part of his research. I am sure that part ...

"A fellow Army doctor who studied with Hasan, Val Finell, told ABC News, "He would frequently say he was a Muslim first and an American second. And that came out in just about everything he did at the University." Finell said he and other Army doctors complained to superiors about Hasan's statements. "And we questioned how somebody could take an oath of office…be an officer in the military ...

"warning the American people not to jump to conclusions about Muslims. I don't recall a single MSM story saying not to jump to conclusions about pro-lifers after Dr. Tiller was killed. In fact many people immediately attacked talk radio hosts and the pro-life movement for creating a culture in which it was deemed acceptable to kill abortionists.' Welcome to your New World. Yes, there were so many warning signs, unfortunately, that went ignored simply b/c of political correctness.  No one wanted to insinuate that a Muslim soldier could be a terrorist.  I realize not all Muslims are terrorists/extremists, but it's sad that when they are, we're too afraid to call them what they are, for fear of being branded a racist/bigot.

There may have been some of that, but I think it is more complicated than that. The other day several army wives brought up the possibility that the army was reluctant to let a doctor go, given the shortage of shrinks and the money spent on training him. I also think that the conclusion that the correspondence between Hasan and Awlaki was harmless may have been mistaken due to lack of ...

Yes. There were those who were furious that it was even mentioned that he was muslim. Apparently it was somewhat relevant, wasn't it? I don't think any of us jumped to any conclusions about his faith being part of the shooting, but the details did start surfacing rather quickly, didn't they? And yes, I don't care who he was involved with or not involved with. Anyone who does something like this is a terrorist because it is...

ter·ror·ism ? ? (t r -r z m)? NOUN: The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. Our President needs to borrow George Stephanopoulos' dictionary again. This is under T, like Taxes . Hasan created a sense of terror where there had never been terror...

I wonder if Hasan had died of his deserved wounds how the military would have handled the memorial.? As is they set out pictures, boots, guns, and helmet in honor of each loss of a soldier that day.? Hasan, on paper, was a soldier too, so would he have been placed up there among the others with his picture, boot, gun, and helmet receiving a coin from the president Oh, as for the president when he laid a coin at each picture of a fallen...
