Thread: Computer not turning on.. flashing amber light

I have a dell desktop E310 it recently turned off when trying to turn it back on the screenn remains black and the power button flashes amber and the system will not come on , any help would be great .

Had this problem .. turned out to be a faulty USB hub .. Unplug ALL of your USB hardware and try a START .. If your computer boots with a Green light, your problem is originating in one of the USB units .. add one USB item at a time to isolate the faulty hardware...gl DonR

I have a Dell E510. I had the amber blinking light. My computer would take a long time to turn on. Then one day not at all. Found some info on the internet and opened up my power supply to find 3 bulging/leaking capacitors. Went to www.digi-key.com and paid about $7 with shipping for the capacitors and soldered them in and as good as new. Make sure you put them in properly. Look ...

Look at the + sign and - sign etc. Short out the old ones before...
