QUOTE(bryce00741 @ Oct 20 2008, 11:32 PM) I tried the audio kext from Chysaor on my m1330 to try to get the audio working. When I copied the kexts to the extensions folder it said. the system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/Contents /plugins/IOHDAFamily.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used. also says the same for AppleHDAController.kext it ...
Copy the AppleHDA.kext to /System/Library/Extensions/ run the following as root: chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext touch /System/Library/Extensions Then repair permissions or just use Kext Helper to install the kext. (Google for the app)
Sullitf : I too have a M1530 triplebooting Vista/OS X/Fedora with almost the exact config as yours. I would suggest that you not replace the 4965 and just plug in the 1505 in the WWAN slot. I have done that. Just disable one of the cards in any os which sees both. Everything else should be fine with a grain of salt. For detailed instructions see macgirl's thread http://forum....
For those with an M1730, the AppleHDA.kext attached to this post has working speaker output (i.e. sound!). No mic or anything, but it's a good place to start.

Since i have a perfectly working Hackintosh on my desktop i tought i would retry my m1530. Is it possible to have working shutdown/restart with this machine? just hitting the powerbutton is a killer for your hard drive. If the sound driver is the problem, then i don't care about sound, i have logitech v10 USB speakers with built in sound card.

QUOTE(Optimango @ Oct 21 2008, 09:03 AM) Sorry, dumb question. Apparently it's the videocard driver that {censored}s up the shutdown. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. So everybody is shutting down and then holding the powerbutton? my HDD makes an ugly noise, this can't be good on a long term basis. The noise you are hearing is the hard drive head parking itself ...

thank you so much talisman and wingrunr21. I know have working speakers and the second audio port works. I also got the clamshell sleep to work. Thanks!
So my sound works now, but on some video's, I will either get video lag or audio lag. I don't usually get both at the same time, just one or the other. Anyone know how to fix that? Thanks again!
QUOTE (Urthwhyte @ Dec 9 2009, 11:54 AM) I was under the impression that P-States played the larger role in power consumption, but apparently not. They were working under Leo, any knowledge if it was a kernel level change that's broken it and will take a while to fix, or are we just waiting to come up with a proper method of implementing it in DSDT/Kext I get about 3.5-4 hrs on a 9 cell with SL. Of course, I keep my...
QUOTE (Superhai @ Sep 14 2009, 05:40 PM) I have started, but now my poor Dell got the nvidia gpu issue again so i am awaiting a new m/b... oh well... Mine died month ago, Dell replaced m/b twice, and memory once.
I've looked through the C-State thread a bit, but I'm not fully understanding what we need to do to get it fully working with our M1x30s, much like P-States, I'm assuming that a different one is needed for every processor, but I don't understand why we couldn't just move back to the VoodooPower model, which presumably had them working, unless SLs Power Management has changed that much. Chryasor or Superhai, any input?...
QUOTE(itdoesnotwork @ Apr 27 2009, 07:33 AM) I came across the new DSDT.aml by Chrysaor yesterday. I installed new Chameleon 2 RC1, Netkas Boot file and the DSDT.aml and removed NVinject and Clamshell. It works, but I still have to sleep the display and get around 800 pts 1440x800. And yes, I do have 8600m GT with normal performence running Vista. I really don't know what I could try, maybe I'll try a retail install...
QUOTE (Superhai @ Sep 4 2009, 10:31 PM) I created a preboot cd for installing snow, and decided to share it with you. It is in its infancy and specifically designed for my Dell XPS M1330. It is straighforward, insert and boot from it - when chameleon screen completes loading, eject the cd and insert the Snow Leopard dvd and wait for approx one minute. Then press F5 and if all goes well you will see the DVD as an icon. Choose...
QUOTE (talisman @ Dec 10 2009, 09:21 PM) I get about 3.5-4 hrs on a 9 cell with SL. Of course, I keep my display brightness really low as I like it that ways. P-states work in snow. You need the right DSDT and Vanilla speedstep works. Have a look at immo's guide on custom DSDT. Try using my version of the T8300 DSDT and remove any NullCPU or Disabler kexts and any VoodooPower you might have. Strange, I have the config as...
QUOTE (Superhai @ Dec 23 2009, 02:33 AM) I made a little experiment for adding fan and temp to the istat menus. Here is a kext which should replace fakesmc.kext. Should work on most dell laptops. If you like it, thats nice. SoftSMC.kext.zip ( 26.65K ) Number of downloads: 7 SoftSMC.kext.leo.zip ( 14.83K ) Number of downloads: 2 I assumed the top one is for Snow, and it works. iStat only seems to update...
