Thread: Compander placement in delay circuit

Started 1 month ago by H.R. Shove and Stuff
Hello! I have a few questions about using a compander in a delay. Schematic for reference: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/.../pt80schem. pdf The PT80 uses a compander around a pt2399, but has the feedback bath outside the compander. Would there be any drawbacks in putting the feedback loop inside the compander? The reason I ask is because after the compander, I am going to ...

Why dont you just keep what you have. 500K will work with those pups so will the cap. if the pots are noisy, clean them with contact cleaner. If you are going to replace them then use Audio Taper pots. 250K will have more high end roll off then 500K. Any of these should do. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navig...XGG&ZYX SEM=0 For caps, .022, .033, or .05 is pretty normal. I would ...

there was an article awhile back about guitarists who attached a mini kaoss pad to their guitars, it was in guitar player i think (can't remember how long ago...maybe a yr ago?). anyway, the mini-is small enough to attach w/ some velcro, and then you can get the sonic weirdness it offers. they mentioned that vernon reid has one on one of his guitars, can't remember who else... just a thought ...

I called a tech friend who said he wouldn't do a fret job without doing a nut job. So apparently your luthier is himself a nut job!

Sometimes a shim is necessary. "I cut it twice and it's still to short!"

I'm looking for something like these: I see them on a lot of boards and would like to use them on my current build. Any help would be awesome- thanks!

We brought the beagles with us... The Rotties and Sheps with the double coat made it through. What I am doing with the gold leaf once I get back done there this going to trim the body, pickguard, and headstock with it as well as a headstock design before I do the clear coat. I will be getting back to work this week. The weekend took a bad turn with a chest cold... Pics hopefully soon.

If you're using standard metal jacks, not the plastic jacks, the box is grounded when you screw the jacks into the box, the box becomes a common grouns and conducts between all the jacks. So my guess is the adaptor causing the problem. As I said unplug it and see if the hum goes away. If it does you got a poorly filtered adaptor. Get yourself a Boss or a Dan Electro Zero Hum adaptor and you'll be in good shape. (or use a battery, a...

Are you talking about the ol' fashioned Paas egg eye stuff (or similar)? I didn't know anyone would have the stuff in stock this time of the year, but now I know that when I find some, I'm going to stock up. If it works on eggs (non toxic!) then I think it would make for great dye for a few other projects (other than guitar) I'll soon be embarking upon. Being the curious type, I went to Google to look up Aniline and how it...

When it comes right down to it it’s your guitar do what you want. I will say if you’re going to stain it. I would use some sort of wood conditioner. It will help give you an even coat.

First off, look for loose connections on the power jack (and/or battery harness), input and output jack, and switch. Those are all "high stress" points and tends to be where things break on well used pedals.

One old school method of keeping glue out of the threads is using plastic drinking straws. Just slide them over the threaded rod. Epoxy won't stick to plastic, not very well anyway.
