Coming to Maryland Next? Link Quote: California to withhold a bigger chunk of paychecks
The amount goes up 10% on Sunday as Sacramento borrows from taxpayers. Technically, it's not an income tax increase: You'll get the money back eventually.
Reporting from Los Angeles and Sacramento - Starting Sunday, cash-strapped California will dig deeper into the ...
Wait, you wil get it back in April? As a "tax" refund? Didnt they issue IOUs this year? Or "warrants"? AS I recall, they supposed to redmmable starting October 2nd, I cant find anything saying if that held true. So how the heck does the state expect to pay back this extra withholding? Are the money aliens dropping off a sucer of cash? The greenback crop going to get harvested?

So what do I tell the bank when I send them 10% less money on my mortgage payments, because the state took the money I used to pay them.
Some people simply cannot stand a 10% pay cut. Many are living on the edge now. I would asume this cut applies to pensioners and people on fixed incomes also.
This would appear to me to be theft, pure and simple.

Think of it as a forced, interest-free loan: You'll be repaid any extra withholding in April. Those who would receive a refund anyway will receive a larger one, and those who owe taxes will owe less....

It can't be stressed enough that if ever there was an example of how/why socialism would fail in America, California is it. __________________ My relationship to music is a very personal one.
