So its not official yet but it looks like I'll be an assistant coach for my school's JV or Varsity Girls BBall team this season. When I say my school, the high school I graduated from last season. Anyways, yeah I'm sooo excited for this...I always wanted to get into coaching at the high school level and to do it one year out of school, pretty fun.
All throughout my high school career ...
Congrat to you on staying focused on what you want. It is easy to get distracted especially by the those things you need. lol _________________ (shrrew)
Congrats. But as I said over in WNBA, I think it would be a good idea to practice your gracious losing skills -- if only for the sake of teaching your players. I understand you're disappointed, but showing a little classand congratulating the winning team instead of saying you're not going to kiss their asses is usually part a coach's job. But I'm sure you know that. I wish you success! ...
Congrats Coach! But try to limit the hip/hand checks and elbow lessons, please. _________________ R.I.P MJ

So just completed the first official week of practice, it was really fun. Definitely different from the men's game but I like it and I'm def learning a lot from it. I know what WNBA teams feel like when they don't have their veterans in training camp...we pretty much went the entire week without our veterans on varsity because their volleyball season wasn't over until the end of the week and then we gave them Friday off so...
DTP, I know how you must feel with having players missing due to other commitments. My first week of practice, I was missing 3 girls and 3 boys from my teams. Most were gone because of the school's Nature's Classroom thing where they go away from learning academics to being green friendly. (Don't get me started on that) but a couple were down sick.

Congrats DTP! This is exactly what I want to do so I know how it must feel! _________________ Namaste Anything successful is a series of mistakes. Sun STH

Congrats to you DTP! This is also what I want to do. I'm always saying how whenever I get to coach, how my kids are gonna hate me initially because I'm not going to let them even look a basketball for at least the first week and a half. Nothing but running and defense baby! We'll see who's dedicated and who's just on the team because they think it's cool or because their best friend was on it etc., etc....
Training run was bizarre: coach loses 12 kids, coach... Training run was bizarre: coach loses 12 kids, coach freaks out, coach finds said 12 kids, coach blasts funky music. In the span of 1 hour.
