Unfortunately i let someone use my phone to see the thing... I usually hate doing that cause they often do something stupid... Anyway the guy searched for gibberish in the quick search. Now that gibberish is there every time I hit the magnifying glass. I've not got anything else in there because every time I search I just use the voice activated one. I'd like to be able to clean that out so ...

Carl - I saw your post but still can't get the search history to clear. Any other suggestions?

It seemed to work for me {Running 1.6} but Try this : Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> Go to "Google Search (enhanced) -> Clear data Does this work for you?

Thanks, Carl. But when i go to manage applications, the only applications that show up are the ones I downloaded.

I found how to show all applications, and hit clear data. the searches still show up whan I am in maps and select the search button

Anyone else having problems with any of the methods in this thread? James A , Can you re-boot your phone and try again. It should show you all the applications including the ones you have downloaded and system apps like the Market etc.

Yeah search history is not deleted via this method, but thanks for showing how to view all apps (not just downloaded) :-)

On a related topic while viewing all the applications I saw a google bug reporting one. Is there a way to launch this app to provide feedback to google about things that arent working or need improvement?
