There shoudl be an out out shaft seal, if there is not you do have a problem. the seal gets pressed in. It is just run through seal that holds the fluid back.

I have an 05 chevy suburban 4wd automatic. It's leaking between the tranny and transfer case. I pulled the transfer case thinking the tranny output shaft would have a seal but there was no seal. I mopped out the fluid you could see leaking from the output shaft bearing and rtv'd (parts house had no gasket) the flanges and bolted it back up. Now it's leaking again. Any help?...
