I just did what you want to do...And it can be done, your going to need an adapter bracket if you want to keep your cruise control @ Overdrive., Also you might not be able to use the same hoses for your heater, as the holes in the intake may be different, and sensors will have to mount in different places.. Other then that its a pretty straight forward swap, your not using a computer ...

Put your TBI and intake on that motor and most everything esle will work out. If you have all of your accessory brackets from your old engine and mount them all on the other engine. The block and probably the heads of the TBI and a Carb motor should be the same. I worked around a computer doing the same swap before and really didn`t like it. It is best to use your computer to run ...

You will also need to change your fuel pump. Carb engines generally have the fuel pump on the engine and its powered by the cam shaft. TBI/TPI have the fuel pump in the fuel tank and push more fuel than your carb can handle. your better off swapping the intake manifold and all the engine sensors keeping teh TBI set up. I swapped in a `85 4.3L engine carb engine into my `93. Swapped...

There is a carb setup for every LS based engine including the LS3/L76. Here is a pic of a carbed LS1 with individual coil packs. cant go wrong with an LQ4/9. Why would you want to put an engine with an older one. If you do the swap to an older motor, you cannot pass smog tests depending on the state. Chris

OH, there is also a 515 carbed LS3 crate motor available. makes more power than an LS7 and half the price
