What are some reasonable deals for .22 pistols and rifles? This would be for kids to use and I would want something cheap. Growing up my dad had a .22 revolver and semi auto .22 rifle that I could plink with all day in the back yard (he lived in the country). I would like to have something like that for the boys for when we go up to Leah's grandmother's.
BTW, bolt action rifle would be okay ...

Get a Cricket!

Perfect kids gun, totally made for their size. About $100.
You can find them at Wal-mart and Gander Mountain. I'm sure Cabella's or Great Outdoors has them, too.
A friend got a semi auto .22 rifle for $99 at Wally world... Not very pretty, and the sights suck, but it's reliable and quiet. You could shoot it out doors without ears no problem.
You have a lot of options Chili, but if you want a semi auto then Academy has some great deals.
The mossberg plinkster is priced at $109, and I have never heard anything bada about them-

They look pretty small based on the kids they show. This ...
Ya...the Crickett is a starter gun, for younger kids.
At yours' ages, they could handle a standard rifle. I agree, take them to a store and try them on for size.

I am not impressed with the new 10/22s. The quality has seemed to have diminished in recent years. I noticed that the stainless is not actually stainless, but painted.
