Hi, im new here so hope im posting in the correct place.. Im about to change from Tiscali broadband to Orange broadband. I currently have a package with Tiscali for £19.99 which includes broadband, line rental and phone. I spoke to Orange last night and i am entitled to free broadband and was told get a MAC code from Tiscali. I rang Tiscali today to be told i don't need a MAC code ...

Hi Jenna, Under the present rules you will need a MAC to move to a new ISP. Contact Tiscali and request the MAC again, stating they have 5 working days to supply the MAC or you will report Tiscali to OFCOM. It could be that you're on Tiscali's fully unbundled platform, which would make sense if you have line rental with them too. The problem here is that MPF (fully unbundled) lines are not completely covered by the MAC process and since Orange is also a shared/fully unbundled platform mix then you will have a headache switching between them.
