Thread: Champions= Starting Pitchers

Started 2 months ago by PenceSlam
If the Astros want to contend Drayton McLane must open his wallet and Sign 2 Great Pitchers John Lackey and Rich Harden, Ed Wade must retool the infield because there is no Power or Speed at 2B, and 3B we must trade away the AAA prospects for a real Ballplayer, Castro is a promising player, They must not sign the bullpen guys Hawkins and Valverde , just save money and get Starters, Ijust wish ...

Dude, Drayton is way ahead of you, he resigned Brian Moehler for $3M......Don't worry he has it covered...Go get 99 Tacos for 2 Cents.

Matsui is fast...

thomasj13 replied 2 months ago
Only 1/2 the time.

"we must trade away the AAA prospects for a real Ballplayer" This is the exact approach that has led to a mediocre team in recent years.

"Matsui is fast..." Agreed. No one reaches the DL faster than him.

unionstation82 replied 2 months ago
Amen. We can't go down that road again. At least not until there's a surplus in minor league top-grade talent.

60% of the time, he steals every time.

unionstation82 replied 2 months ago
Now, now. He played the majority of last season. Let's give him a pass.

but only plays 1/2 the time, hence 1/2 of the time he is fast. Now I know why you are the only unemployed Indian in Houston...You have to be the only one that is not smart.

"Why not sign players and KEEP our prospects...?" What kind of team do you think this is? Successful? Well run? Intelligent? <GTFO and go back to the winning teams' boards, this is the ASTROS board son.

"Are you crazy or something? Ed Wade signed him doofus, CLEARLY he's the worst human being in the history of the planet." You're almost ready to switch from sarcasm to reality which looks very similar. Clearly, not every player Wade signs can be the worst human being in the history of the planet. Some are second or third worst...

It sure would be nice to have Zobrist at 3B, and Buchholz in the bullpen... We'd be replacing Tejada and Valverde without spending a dime....which would be money that could then be used for a real starter. Bourn Matsui Berkman Lee Zobrist Pence I like that 1-6 a lot....

Are you crazy or something? Ed Wade signed him doofus, CLEARLY he's the worst human being in the history of the planet. ----------- Wouldn't that technically put him in a tie with the others Ed signed?

It it a myth that we were mediocre in 09! If you added 100 runs which we scored in 09, we still would not be in the top 25% (of the NL) and if you subtracted 100 runs which we gave up we still would not have been in the top 25% (NL); no other team can say that. It is an even bigger myth that we are a "mediocre team" because we traded away prospects. In the past decade, what trades have we made that drove us to be...
