Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by newdubbin
I'm a bit lost on this one. As a young guy in college, what should be worn with nice dark jeans and slim fit khakis? I'm guessing brown shoes. What about a pair of greyish blue khakis? Black? I can't see myself pulling off loafers, never had a pair and they just feel too "old man" for me but I'm not against going to a store and seeing how they feel/look. well the season is just about over for boat shoes, so its time to get a decent boot for the winter. dont get those american eagle boots that all college kids have that weight 5 lbs each. personally id just wear a puma/adidas casual/trendy sneaker.

Nothing wrong with a classic Bass or Cole Haan loafer. I prefer mine with kilties. Get a pair of classic cordovan color - they'll go with tan or blue chinos. FYI - khaki is a color, not a style.

Yeah, most people call Chinos "Khakis" because most often you'll find them in a tan/khaki colour. Suede is good. Chukkas, oxfords, derbies, moc toes, whatever, in tan they're great for casual.. even with a darker blue or grey pant.

im loving the warm look of suede. extremely versatile -- can dress up or down. looks unique, without "trying too hard" (ie mega-polished shoe). you could do a sharp sleek chukka (not the clunkier combat boot style) or oxford (balmorals). not a fan of derby

Driving Mocs all the way man. That's what I typically wear with chino's and certain pairs of jeans
