Just when I was set to pull the plug and order up the multiset for the Scala Rider Q2s I read the review on webbikeworld for the chatterbox xbi2 system. It does have the stereo bluetooth (A2DP?) capability and seems to be much more waterproof than the Scala Q2.
I also called up Chatterbox and they make a kit that allows you to use your own earplugs as a plug and play item directly from ...
I have the Scala Cardo Q2. My buddy and I have used them now on several trips and I must say I am very impressed by the ease of use and how well these things work. These have surpassed both of our hopes significantly. We have gone several days of non stop bike to bike communication for at least 8 hours sometimes 9 without a recharge. And they are still good the next day for a few hours before...
Roonie,
Thanks for the info. What sort of phone and GPS systems did you use with the Q2 units? Also, did you consider the Chatterbox units before purchasing the Q2 units?

I use earplugs too, so I bought the adaptor cable. It's pricey, $40-50 something, I forget now, but it is absolutely plug-and-play and works well.
The one thing I was never able to check on was the advertised range of the Xbi2.
first off Newenough has the Q2 on sale for $240

a couple of things about the Chatter vs. the Scala. The Scala clamps to the side of most helmets. I believe you must glue the Chatterbox to your helmet. My Scala Teamset stayed put for three years so ...

Also, I have heard the Chatter batter only last a few hours. I know the Scala Teamset battery will last 2-3 days of...

The cable I mentioned is for the Xbi and Xbi2, but I believe he understood that and was asking if a similar cable existed for the Q2. And that, I do not know.
Yes for the Q2 it has a cable that plugs into it for your MP3. I used my Iphone for MP3 and cell phone uses. No problem. TheQ2 has a list of priority.
Highest priority is cell phone calls and GPS. those will always break into your rider to rider communication.
2. primary buddy audio and a third person audio Meaning you can talk up to 3 buddies with this unit.
3. FM radio which is...
Hey Bipbap, Great points. I am leaning toward the Q2 and just hard wire up my iPod or iPhone. I have the iPhone 3G. Did they add stereo bluetooth via the last software upgrade? I think this is a hardware issue but not sure. I really have to hear the stereo bluetooth before I make a decision. I have to say the price point of the Q2 multisets really makes them appealing units to buyers.

I wear one on my Shoei Hornet. My only complaints with my Cardo Scala Q2 : 1.) Despite all my vents being closed & repositioning it a hundred ways, it beeps inscesently every 7-15 seconds with the slightest bit of wind noise thinking it hears me trying to activate either bluetooth intercom or voice dial (which my iPhone doesn't have). I will have to figure out a way to turn down the voice activate sensitivity. a side problem this...
