Thread: Carb Main Body Swap?

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by 93NotchLX
I was changing jets at the track last weekend and somehow stripped out a bowl screw on my 650 DP. I have a 700 DP laying around and was wondering if I could swap the main body from my 700 DP to my 650 DP without it changing anything? Or would it make my 650 into a 700? Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can swap the main bodies and it won't effect the cfm of the carb. What changes the cfm is the stock base plate because they use different venturi diameters from the 650 to 750 carbs. If you wanted to keep the same main body you could probably heli-coil it though. Tater

Well the Helicoil is a good idea if you can find 5/16"-32 helicoils.
