Thread: Can't give up cheese

Started 2 years, 5 months ago by vcat79
How long until the cravings will go away for cheese? That is something I have found constant in this section on giving up cheese. I need a light at the end of my tunnel. _________________ Victoria Congruence is key to living a life of true happiness...

Another vote for Redwood's Cheezly here. Brilliant stuff. The melty one is excellent on pizzas and the cheddar one fantastic in cheese sauce.

I know some people have already said this, but I know for me, I just stopped wanting cheese when I started losing weight. Also, the dairy industry is cruel, and when we eat cheese substitutes, we kind of reinforce the feeling that cheese is okay (at least in my opinion). I'm all for the nutritional yeast, for sure! but I think it's silly and counterproductive to go buy fake cheese at the...

Cheese-less pizzas can be so delicious. When I first went vegan I was very worried about cheese, but pizzas without cheese and with a basil pesto sauce instead are simply amazing... Also a sad loss is ranch dressing, I was also addicted to that, and there really isn't a great replacement. On the other hand, nothing suffered for the ranch I didn't eat!

ok, so maybe I didn't word that right. I don't eat cheese replacements, for the same reason that I don't eat meat replacements (like soy deli meat, for example). I don't think of cheese or meat as food, and when I eat a cheeseless pizza (delish) and I'm with others, I think that's a nice way of reinforcing that these foods don't have a place in my diet. Didn't mean to come across like an...

I don't eat cheese daily or even in any large quantities and I don't eat any other dairy products, but some of my favorite meals need that cheese; not to mention what's the ocasional pizza treat without cheese! I have come across nothing that ...

Just because you call something "cheese" does not imply that you are trying to replicate dairy cheese, since when did dairy claim the rights to the word cheese? Well ok, for 99% of the poplulation when you saw cheese or meat they think dairy and animal, but what about coconut "meat" or avacado 'meat" - not trying to replicate something there, just using the word by definition. I understand...

Well I know Whole Foods in California and Arizona have it and from what I heard it was in other markets. I had to ask because they weren't really promoting it at my local WF. But then they started selling little tubs of it shredded too for like $3, one was enough to make a good size homemade pizza. I would just ask around, I would think a market like Boston would pick it up too. Here in AZ I can get one of there surfboard pizzas with...
