Thread: Can AHA cause the redness ?

Started 1 month ago by thestew
Some common sense would tell me to start slowly and adjust usage, just like Dan's Regimen. If it starts to hurt and pain is unbearable back off on the AHA a bit.

wrocky, it's so strange ... on the fourth day of using AHA my skin got red and now it is always red after I apply AHA ... AHA with Duac works well for my skin, but I can't stand that redness caused by AHA. If I didn't pay that much for AHA and it didn't work for me well, I would just stop using that, but now I can't. Till the next visit to my dermatologist one week left and I don't know ...

Today is the fifth day I'm using DUAC plus AHA. My skin is terrible red and dry, flaky. I can't understand is it from DUAC or AHA. Now I'm using AHA only in the evening, but I see no improvement and i still have to wait for four days till i'll see my derm : )

yeah i know what you look like When i looked in the mirror I thought someone painted me with ketchup ^^, now when i stopped using AHA with Duac, my redness is gone. Let us know what the derm says.

Hi there, I'm seeing derm on tuesday, but now I stopped using AHA and my skin is no more red. The only thing that doesn't let me to forget about that AHA prevents from breaking out, but I can't really say that I get any new pimples when not using AHA : )

I've just been to my dermatologist and I'll try to quote her. In her opinion my skin improvement is really big and visible, using DUAC + AHA Neostrata moisturizer (lotion). First of all I told her that after applying AHA I feel my skin burning and red and my skin can not adapt the AHA. Also I told her that my skin is very flaky and dry, so the answer was: As my skin is sensitive enough and ...

hehe, good to hear that i totally forgot about this topic . How is your skin doing now? Still using duac? At the moment i wash my face only once a day and apply duac before sleep and when i wake up my skin in no more red or dry, so i think i dont even need moisturizer anymore. I tried couple of moisturizers and in the end all of them broke me out .

I had the same problem with AHA. First few times it was fine. It just stung a little immediately after application, but it's only for a few minutes so I didn't mind. But eventually my skin became severely dry and red so I dropped it all together. Not for me I guess.
