Hello again all,
I have a CX25IE Pallas, with a frayed old kickdown cable. I'd post a picture if I could, but I'm away from the car at the moment. To all those CX geniuses out there, what kind of job is it to replace this cable, and where would I be best sourcing a replacement from?
Also, I've recently moved to Canberra, so Denton at European Autocare in Penrith is a bit of hike now. Are ...
Yip ..... extremely simple and most embarassing ......
This morning I did not have time to peek under bonnet...... I'm usually late for work and decided to tell the group about my "problem".... had a look this evening before leaving the office and found the following:
Yesterday I loosened the duct that directs air to the radiator in order to tidy up & fit proper screws ; struggled a bit with...

Late GS bushes are the same as CX bushes: a plastic inner inside a rubber bush. I don't think Viton is what you think it ...
I have had no dashboard problems and I believe them to be rare. There are only really two components -the instrument cluster and the display. Both may seem horrendously expensive to those unfamiliar with the holding and distribution costs of low usage but complex spares.
Owners of the XM, an older technology and an older car that has digital display failure will have all experienced this ...
Thanks Addo, The car has always been serviced at its regular scheduled interviews and no issues, ,, I was after views on who to take the car too from other members who may have a good Mechanic they use...

Don't panic, Lisa, I'm sure your car will be fine. Addo is a perfectionist when it comes to maintenance. The things that were mentioned can go wrong...

I'm sure it's impossibly difficult (is that what you were told when they explained it'll cost thousands ??).
So you mean it would only be $100 for parts ?? And the other $700 is labour ?? I'd give ...
I have been reading through the owners Manual, and of course other members
posts ( owners of same or similar car) to get history of hiccups of what
others have had, and the likely cause. But , Never would I try and do
anything myself....except , water in radiator, air in tyre etc, touch up
paint....

But hey, I was wrong, the gearbox is already at the back in a GS. seeya, Shane L.
OK, jack the front up as high as you can safely support it. Leave the arse on the ground and chock. Pull up the rubber grommet around the base of the steering column - you can then do a lot of the work through there. Read the PDF
There are a number of vulnerable rusting places visible from that angle and this van has them all. Only the ones near the headlight are a bit hard to cut out and replace because there is a brace behind that traps the humidity and now gets in the way of the welding and cutting. The real problem spot is invisible. It is the box sections under the floor. If they need replacing it is a skilled welding job which here requires costly inspection as...

I know some alternators need to connect through a lamp to earth, while...
Only with Citroen? The car has decided that is DOES have central locking after all. All I did was drive the car about 20m to the other end of the underground parking area. I then put the back door cards on, opened and closed the hatch maybe twice, drove the car 20m back to the garage and then tried the central locking and PRESTO, it worked! Now it is just a case of waiting until it reappears. Unless there is a counter that only allows the...

Nothing is happening. I checked the fuse and it is OK. There is no remote control with this car, all locking is via key. The alarm/security has been disabled (don't need to enter PIN). The only things that the panelbeaters removed were the exterior door...
That might explain why the ride isn't so good with my Bob Jane T-Mart specials on the CX compared with the previous "French Rubber" it used . Very elastic and caring when considering ride performance. Yes we are talking about cheap transport as a criteria at this time. All the best,
Have a look at the front of right rear wheel when the car is on low setting and see how close it is to the fuel filler pipe it is a bit frightening as when we got our car it had 215/17/50 tires and wheels !
Most unusual, perhaps it should have 50 bar...or maybe 40 bar. Depends how strictly the rules apply as to application and dates. Interesting, perhaps the spheres are original to the car, it is possible. Either way, I could recharge them, or you could buy new ones from Chris. Mike, you have options, what a wonderful position to be in :-) cheers richo
