Thread: Padded Fabric Travel Wipes Container with Tutorial!

Started 3 months, 2 weeks ago by bluehairedwoman
Hi, is there a particular type of glue that works better than others? I tried with Aleene's, which was all I had on hand, and found that while it held the fabric in place well initially, it was difficult to stuff the fabric with batting without the fabric coming loose from the sides. Also, do you only glue the edges of the fabric along the sides, or do you apply glue to the bottom of ...

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It has inspired me to go and buy a wipie box. Now I need to find some cutsie fabric to finish it off. Thank you!

Now this is not technically a shower gift, because it's for my own baby, but fits well here. I made a cover for a "boppy" style pillow that I picked up at Jo-Ann's. I used the pattern on the pillow's package. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. And cheap! The pillow was only $10 on sale, and then I just got some cheap-o orange fabric to go with my stash Ikea stuff. Add a zipper...

These look lovely. I'm trying to figure out the best way to make some since the diapers I have access to are like sandpaper. schtankylu, congratulations on the birth of your daughter...surprise an early birth. Thanks for sharing these and helping me. Cheers.

Thank you both so much! That was all soo helpful! I've made a few bibs and burp cloths since then (luckily, I've still got a few days before school starts to finish everything else up). I'll be sure to post! Thank you again <3!

I'm not a mom, but my cousin told me she can never have enough pacifiers! They fall on the ground and in poopy diapers so often (not to mention lost!), that she has a basket of 'binkies' for her daughter. Those can't be crafted... but they might be useful for decorations! Of course, not all babies like pacifiers. So it might be a waste of money!

HANDMADE OVERALLS IN FUN PRINTS...
Published (2009-11-21 01:49:00)
I ended up buying a pattern for it today after my search for a tutorial came up empty. I bought Simplicity's It's So Eacy 2672 Which has a pattern for overalls, an overall dress, and a hat for babies. Looks pretty easy. Usually I hate patterns though so we'll see how well I can work "inside" the box! hehe.

OMG, just realised you're another aussie Her letters are very cute! I think I'm going to make a couple of little peasant-y tops this week, since I'm still waiting (3 days over so far...). Have to finish off her small nappy stash too, she's going to have nothing after she grows out of her newborn stash otherwise lmao
