There is so much to admire in this photo: feeling of cold with the pavement and lighting; the breeziness of Autumn; the very appealing swirl of color from leaves, having run their lifespan, going out with a splash of color. A wonderful shot!

I like the composition of your entry. It looks like fog or mist in the background and the town in the distance. All very nice - those trees just jump out at you.

It really is more than a mere scene of the season. It captures the season's soul.

odd places, where you as concerned with balance as you are with holding the camera still. Team it up with your camera strap and you can really hold the camera still in marginal light. Thanks. I almost forgot about that picture. Check out the images before and after mine. I Like both for the mood they set.

for the fall contest last year. You have a great contender and I wish you a good run and lots of votes, it's so much fun to participate. By the way, your entry is one size too large. The longest dimension cannot exceed 800. In Photobucket, where I post from, it's the size of a 15 " screen. You posted 17 ". You can simply exchange out the link if you are within the timeframe of still being able...

I'm glad you posted that very beautiful photo. I am astonished at how much green grass there is, I guess the leaves have not yet fallen too much. It makes for intrigue as well.

I had not read the other comments when I left mine, I do that often to not be influenced, but it was funny how we all said the same thing in essence. You toned it down perfectly, and chose the right one IMHO.

I always thing it is interesting to see what an artist does with a camera. I haven't been "into" photography that long either. It's funny--I took Studio Art in high school way longer than my talent would have indicated, simply because I liked what it did with the way I saw the world. Honestly, both art and calculus made me see my surroundings differently, and react with the world differently. But photography is much easier...

for the welcome and sizing tips. I used Photoshop Elements and what I did was re-size the photo to 800 dpi in the vertical direction, then when saving, slid the bar to make it the >200K file size (it came out to approx 176K or #10 on the size scale) with optimized baseline. It was uploaded to photobucket. After looking over the link, I'm still feeling a bit confused as to how to get photos even bigger online and stay within...

the intersection of the Autumn season, in Human and Nature; one could write poetry on the basis of that photo. Just lovely
