Thread: CADDY'S DiH

Started 8 months ago by CADDY
DiH Run Update. The DiHs are in the epoxy mold. Sorry, guys, day job intervened. Had to stay up late the other day... The only things left to do are to wait for the epoxy to cure, unmold, make the cables, and calibrate the DiHs. I should be able to finish it tomorrow and hope I can make the post office's deadline for mailing them out tomorrow.

DiH Run Update. Molding/un-molding completed. All looking good, nothing broken at the violent un-molding process (I literally have to use a hammer on them, even though there is mold release agent applied to them -- 100% pure Carnauba wax). The first batch of glass bead blasted DiHs looks nice! I am glad I get to keep one for myself. Now that I get to claim one for myself, I am not giving it ...

DiH Run Update. The glass bead blasted DiHs are in the mail. Now I can get back to the X-Y Hall sensor and my new RF-45.

Caddy, The bead blasting looks nice! Gunner

Thanks Gunner. Here's the glass bead blasted X-Y sensor bracket and mounting plate. This was originally destined for my collaborator, but I found out it's 1/16" too small to fit the mounting column and the tram of the milling machine needs adjustment, so I used it to test the glass bead blasting.

My new RongFu RF-45 mill. I still need to build up the water proofing/enclosure and convert it to CNC though. Additional photos of workbench/enclosure I am building can be found here . The X-Y Hall sensor certainly will utilize this new setup. ;-)

Thanks Gunner. Next stop, CNC conversion and some tasks for the X-Y sensor that can be done manually on this machine.

After months of sitting in my garage and some setbacks, my RF-45 CNC conversion is finally powered up. It's alive! Now I can start rigging up a flood coolant system (fish tank, fish tank), safety shields and familiarize myself with the operations of the machine, calibrate the machine, and convert some of my old hand written GCode for the new controller (DiH code!), then use it for DiXYHS.
