Thread: Bullseye Shooting Range

Started 2 months, 3 weeks ago by Koli01
What ever happened to them? I was just clearing out an old dayplanner and found a flyer. Their prices were a bit steep. What actually closed them down. Competion w/Greater Pitt?

It was started my a small group of guys drawing on a napkin in a bar (seriously). They started it up and ran it into the ground financially. One the owners brothers bought the business to help him out. This brother hired a CEO who didn't squat about firearms or business. He tried to cater to the small wealthy sector of Pittsburgh. Needless to say the wealthy didn't support this ...

I had also heard that one of their financial backers had passed and his esptate became tied up in probate court. Not sure the truth about that. I know that was one of the reasons they initially delayed opening after speaking to them one night out there.

they went out of business prolly...oh, maybe a year ago or longer. my guess is that their prices and the fact that they were just an indoor range (which really limits what you can do) put them out of business. iirc, they were a more than just a "little steep" (i seem to remember $25 per hour), but i dunno.

I was a pretty nice place. Definitely steep. It was something like $400 /yr for a family membership, plus you had to buy their ammo. They had sections that you can do low light and raining simulations. I do remember that they had a video game where you actually used your pistol instead of the typical plastic one to get points.

One good thing they had were rentals. I wish there were more places around that did this. I enjoy being able to shoot guns I might like to purchase.

Bullseye was extremely expensive. Personally, I always enjoyed a day at GPGC when it was empty. I never knew that shady things were going on there... Just didn't see it... I've gotten a little "scuff" from the guys at Anthony Arms before. I stopped in once a couple years ago after helping a relative move and clean out a garage in Munhall. I was by no means disrespectfully dirty or ...

I haven't contacted anyone there. I was just going by the website. I just recently started asking my friends if they know anyone who is a member. I want to get back into IDPA and shoot some small bore rifle. I didn't see any mention of small bore/rimfire matches on their web site. I'd be up for organizing some fun rimfire matches come spring if I could get in.
