I have been collecting makeup for quite some time now, but since a few months my attitude towards it has changed. I was tired of the many different pots in my drawer and I am a person that is not going to use much of what she has if it isn't organized and in sight. So I decided to start collecting MAC eyeshadows in palettes, brands like UD and NYX trio perfectly fit into those palettes, too. ...
I have only tried a few MAC eye shadows, and I thought they were good, but honestly, I like the NYX ones I have better. They are cheaper and work great. My other favorite is Urban Decay. I love their shadows and have several palettes and use them the most out of all my makeup. Like Marlena says in videos, get a good eyeshadow primer. You will not regret it.
I prefer NYX myself - personally, I'm too cheap to use MAC. If you use a primer and a base they won't crease, fade or slide, and will last all day. Additionally, a lot of NYX colors are excellent dupes for MAC colors.
Maybe you'll find my budget method useful. I already owned a few Nyx and Smashbox shadows. I bought the 120 palette for approx $28 to hold me over while I build my "high-end" collection. I now have a few MAC shadows added to the mix, but I also love Smashbox and Urban Decay's eye colours. As for Nyx, with a primer, all the colors are great if you have fair - tan skin.
