"You don't smell like it," the demoness said quietly.

"I'm sorry, it's been over a year and..."  He trailed off with a sigh.  "I'm sorry."

"It's what?"

Kain tried to think of a way to say it, then decided to be blunt.  "Even with all that's happened, not to mention the way you feel about me right now, the only thing I seem to be able to think about is how much I want you...sad, isn't it?"

"I suppose it's to be expected," she said with a heavy sigh. "Our relationship WAS foundation on sex afterall."

Kain said nothing, a mix of hurt entering in the embarrassment.  Is that all she thought it was to him?

Reggy rocked Salem gently, the little boy beginning to doze off. He reached out sleepily with little arms. "No! Dyaddy!" She chuckled. "I think he wants you to hold him."

A smile crept onto his face, Kain taking the boy into his arms.  "Hey, you sleepy, little one?"

Kain hummed to the boy softly, gently rocking him to sleep.

Reggy watched the scene with tender eyes, pulling her t-shirt back on.
