The days fighters escorting bombers to protect them from the enemy's fighters are over. A dog fight these days is a missile from miles away. The only role left for the fighter is ground support and you don't need or want to be flying...

The name of the game is to specify for the NEXT war, not the LAST war. Seeing a Russian fighter proceed horizontally with its long axis vertical was an eye-opener. Fighters dog-fighting at mach 2+ ain't gonna happen.
