Ok so when I bought my car it came equipped with a b&m prostick and 5' shift cable. The 5' cable broke while my friend was watching the car for me and he ordered a 4'. Well we installed it and I can't get the shifter to go into anything lower than overdrive. I thought that it was adjusted properly but could be wrong. Could that be the problem or is it just that the ...

I don't see where the pan was dropped. Like someone said earlier - check the filter and what ever else may be in there. (At least this filter is accessable unlike some imports that are internal to the trans) Can't agree more about the fluid..... can't tell you how many times I've billed out a transmission service to someone who had a converter shutter (mainly Fords) with just the swap to ...

Just installed new motor and trans this week. The motor was rebuild do to thrust bearing damage. The trans is a CK 200R4 stage 2. Check the cooler line pressure and would like to know if the pressure are correct so not to damage thrust bearing again. Thanks Tim P 38 R 60 N 38 D 38 3 38 2 74 1 74

I remembered reading about cooler line pressure in this thread, good bit of Info, starts on about Post #88 Pg.3 and continues on Pg.4. Yours does look a little high. TH400 build-pictures

I'm lost. I just bought an 86 t-type w/ 90k. The car has bigger injectors, new stock turbo( i was told ), mild chip ( no clue which one ), and hooker duals w/ test pipe. the car is completely stock other than that, down to the stock airbox. Now to the problem... The car runs good, shifts firm and solid in all gears until I'm on the freeway in overdrive. I feel the car shift into OD but the car...

87 GN transmission

Matt it apperars that you have an issue with the tv limit valve or tv valve causing excessive oil pressure to enter the tv upshift oil circuit causing late shifts and higher pressure at the line bias valve resulting in firm shifts at short throttle angles. This problem SHOULD be easy to fix.First thing I recommend you do is take off slow and note 1/2 shift rpm. Then disconnect the cable and take off slow and with the same throttle pressure and...

I just wish I knew WTF the trans builder did that caused the problem in the first place. It HAD to be something stupid and obvious, since he called me withing 40 minutes of dropping the trans and leaving his shop. I wonder if he had the pump gasket in wrong or the pump bypass was stuck or something.

There was a case where I restricted feed to the point that I had 0 measured pressure on the cooler line and still had 1 quart in 20 seconds. This was on a transmission dyno. It was a C4 transmission.

Low/Rev Clutch Pack Clearances
Published (2009-12-10 12:18:00)
With this clutch pack you are better off with more clearance than less. There is relative movement between the clutches and steels in the forward gears so any way to reduce drag would be benificial. Allan G.
