Hello dear computer savy deviants !! Here's my prob that I hope you will be able to help me with... After being prompted to set a system boot password (damn you peer pressure) I went to the bios setup menu, chose a password, that I also used as admin password (not that I think that might cause a problem ?), saved the changes, BIOS restarts aaaaand... It could be something as simple as it's receiving the letters, but not showing them. If you type in the password correctly the first time, it should accept it. It happens with command-prompt logins sometimes. If you want to scrap the whole thing, you can utilize the CMOS reset jumper or you could remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for a couple of days, leaving it off until you are ...

I also would recommend clearing the CMOS. The easiest way to do this is unplugging the CMOS-battery, then wait for a little while and plug it back. The jumper is another way but it requires you to know where it is located + what to do once you've found the jumper.
