I guess I should of been more specific.Should they have ask Bonds to be ,the hitting coach??

I don't think Barry would be a good coach. He was born talented, so it wouldn't be easy for him to teach the hackers how to identify pitches and work the count. Most coaches were average players that had to study the game and constantly work at their craft. Barry could hit in his sleep, so I think he would get frustrated watching these hackers swing at pitches he'd spit on.

I'm guessing Filipino. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Another reason Bonds would not have made a good hitting coach is that he really believed that Fred Lewis was going to be the next great Giants hitter. Sooo.... that lack of ability to assess talent would leave alot to be desired in a hitting coach.

NineBuck replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Well, to be fair, it's not Bonds fault that Fred swings at slop. Whether or not Barry could fix Fred's bad eye at the plate is anyone's guess. All we know is Carney couldn't. And it's probably tough for Barry to understand the concept of having an incurably bad eye at the plate, since he's arguably the G.O.A.T. in terms of pitch recognition ability. And he was born that way for the most part....

He sure was amazing. I miss seeing him play too. The Giants were always just one swing away from getting back into a game, or putting a game away when Barry was batting. And now after watching the current best sluggers in the game, (who are way better than anything the G's have, other than Pablo who isnt too far behind them) it's even more apparent how truly great Bonds was. Like Krukow said back then-- "remember this and...

While I don't care for Fred Lewis much, If Barry Bonds says that he's got the tools to be a great hitter, then I believe that he can and will be. Probably not on the Giants, though. Just watch, we'll trade him to another team and he'll blow up, big time.

I'm not sure if Bonds would've made a good hitting coach and I'm not sure if our current coach who batted 220 will make a good hitting coach. I am wondering what people would have thought if it would have been offered to Will Clark? I think he would make a terrific hitting coach.

We definitely enjoyed listening to Kruk more then LOL. The guy was unreal when he came up to ab no one went to the bathroom, concessions anything until he was done. I can't remember how many times when the giants were on the road and blowing out the opponents that fans would stay until Barry last AB before they left most of the time. The main thing you noticed though was that at&t didn't seam as large when he was playing. I...

So Barry made an incorrect statement on one player, and he automatically gets the shaft? When Lewis first came up, he had the tools; he just needed teaching. We all know how well the Giants develop hitters.
