Post # 2 well say something else and you'll have five. Then post the links in the sixth. Oh yeah I can't help you out, I just start mine, wait for the idle to drop, then go.

Post # 3 They do different things.. Block heaters warm the block up to make it easier to start when it's really cold.. they don't actually get the coolant warm enough to warm the cab on startup.. a remote start will actually start the D and warm up the cab... so unless it gets really really cold where you live (I don't plug in...

The heater really helps with the starting and the remote, well that means I have a warm vehicle. For 20 years living in upstate NY, we never had either. Didn't even know what ...

A curious kid could play with the remote start, when the vehicle is inside an attached garage. As for warming the vehicle before I get in it,.. I probably have my pants and coat on anyway, so ...

Post # 10 ^-- the wife's car has a remoe start.. she loves it, but I don't have a garage. When I get one I'm doing the firetruck thing and having those pipes that you put on the exhaust so you can warm the vehicles before leaving the garage without gassing yourself. Here it gets so cold that if you started the car ...

Post # 14 My D came from the dealer with a block heater, battery blanket and oil pan heater so that the oil is warmed up before you start it up. Of course, I bought my D in Yellowknife! I also have a "little buddy" heater that bolts inside the cab and heats up the interior while the D is plugged in. The wire goes through the firewall and simply plugs in with the block heater and come on whenever the block heater comes on. It...
