So, which one do you think are the more interesting people to be the protagonists of Bleach? 1. Shinigami (Ichigo, Byakuya, Kenpachi, Rukia, etc) 2. Not Shinigami (Ishida, Chad, Orihime, Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro, etc) .... I personally prefer the Shinigami. I don't care if there are a lot who say they are the Spotlight Stealing Squad, but I see them more colorful than those who are not. And ...
I'll choose Bleach, thank you very much! And of course the villains make the better good guys. Aizen actually has something of a goal. Soooo... Banzai Aizen-sama!
The shinigami are the saiyans of Bleach. They pretty much stole all the spotlight from the regular powerful humans, but are more interesting anyway so it's ok.
I prefer the human side. It's partly because I think Kubo's done his best writing when fleshing out their backstories. Two of my favorite chapters are Tatsuki remembering how Ichigo changed after his mother's death, and Mizuiro making friends with Ichigo and Chad. Also, most of the shinigami are unabashedly arrogant. Instead, we were treated to a Bleach that stayed true to its roots; a series where characters were fleshed out, where Chad, Orihime, and Uryu were all still useful, on a similar level as Ichigo. A ...
Non-Shinigami. Shinigami ALL have swords that turn into other things (some times a bigger/smaller sword!). They ALL wear the same clothes/uniform all the time (unless it changes through their Bankai) and they've all been shown to be arrogant idiots. That's not to say I dislike all the Shinigami (Kenpachi, guy with 69 tatoo that I can never remember the name of, Shunsui, Rukia and Mayuri come to...
