I bought mine for $10 at Target. They are definitely worth it even before the birth. I sit on mine everyday for lengthy periods of time, as I have replaced my computer chair with it. They help with back pain during pregnancy & optimal fetal positioning.

I used my ball in labor but we've gotten the most use out of it soothing our little guy for the 1st 6 months. My partner sits him on her lap and bounces away and he almost always relaxes and often falls asleep. We bought ours at Target for about $30 but I consider it a good investment! Also, not all balls are created equal. Some can and will burst. I advise finding an anti-burst one. You should get one that's a good size for you...
