CONFESSION TIME - I've been feeling really funny lately in the afternoons: shaky, blurry vision, just generally "out of it." Well, I convinced myself that some sugar would help. I went to Walgreens and bought two bags of candy. And just now polished them both off Of course, after eating them, I calculated points. That quick and mindless binge just set me back 33 points. YUP, almost ...

okay, you know you dererved those kicks... I personally keep an extra Fiber One bar on hand for when I feel like that, and it helps everytime...

Good to see you started this back up Karen. Especially in a time of need! I just replied to your post over in your thread on the Goals Forum.

Karen, At least you counted the points and held yourself accountable!! That is great in itself! Sometimes I just get an overwhelming feeling that I need to eat something that I know I shouldn't and a lot of it, usually I would "forget" about the points or let it snowball into something worse! Acknowledging how your feeling and accepting the points is the best way to deal with it! If you...

Karen - I'm doing this for your own good. LOL. Don't worry, I'm going to get mine after everyone reads my post below. I know exactly how you feel in dealing with the binges. I get these times where I just feel like I HAVE to eat everything in sight...as if I'm never going to be able to eat again. If it's okay, I'm going to join right in here with you Karen. I had an "issue" Monday ...

i think you were both in the right mind to come here and make these confessions. writing it, typing it and saying out loud (no matter how embarrassed or ashamed you feel) i feel can really help. you are owning what you did. you are explaining how you feel. you are explaining your struggle. and this is the right place to come for help and encouragement. yes, you both binged. no, you ...

Karen I totally need this too, work is the 2 weeks of hell and just today, I got another huge re-do of a game, in full due in a week. I haven't been doing my points for like 2 weeks, I'm up 2 lbs since but I'm on my TOM - I've been keeping active, but I eat SO much at nights. Popcicles, prunes, oatmeal cookies, smoothies. I try so much to be full but it's like I can't until I'm at the "...

Michelle - I'm the same way. What is it about being home at night that makes us want to eat?

chellybats replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Bianca, right now it's the stress. I absolutely hate my job, I didn't find last year's convention too bad, but they expect OT from us, the demands are UNREAL - so I'm really unhappy/stressed. Usually I'll eat like 200-250 calories after supper. But right now it's insane. I eat well all day, keep it light, and then supper is heavier... but I still crave the sweet/salt/something cold every ...

Karen - Thanks for the advice. I think the word I'm going to use is supercalifragilisticexpialadocious. LOL. Michelle - Until now, you've NEVER used all of your WAPs and APs? I always have. It just seems to work for me. Well, 90% of the time it does. I'm glad your work stress is almost over! Christyn - That's so funny that we thought of the same word. I seriously think that's what I'm going to use! Well, no...

It's worth a shot to eat the points, if you don't lose, you can always adjust as necessary. The thing that I remember all of the vets who were at goal saying was that the more points you eat while losing the more points you will be able to eat while maintaining. Yes, bodies are crazy...and maybe the fact that you are getting your period now is your body changing which would make your food needs change too....

I hear you Christyn, I think I went too long eating no WAPs at all, I had weeks where I wouldn't eat WAPs or APs at all. Although it led me to success with WW, I find I am hungrier, and if I still lost eating all my WAPs and APs, maybe it's time I eat? To feed my body if it's hungry. I also was without a period for a loooonngg time because of medication, and the past two weeks, it's been time of the month... so perhaps the...

Kristin – thanks for the tip about gobstoppers. That’s interesting and helpful. Also, your thought process for avoiding a binge is a good one. But sometimes even that doesn’t work. I have been able to talk myself out of a binge by considering how badly I’ve felt after past binges. But for me the urges sometimes just take over until I feel incapable of stopping them. Thanks to WW and BCB and some serious work I’ve done really well to slow...

I have a quote for ya'll I think will help: "The thing to remember about chocolate is, that they aren't going to stop making it. So you don't have to eat all those leftover snack size candies..." My daily calendar said this right after Halloween. But replace chocolate with anything, really, and the truth is- that FOOD is not going to disappear! And if we really want it, YES WE CAN HAVE IT- but control it.

Karen -I can so relate to you on feeling like food is filling some type of void. Sometimes it just feels like you are not so much physically hungry just feel an urge to eat. I think we should both have a chat w/our hubbies and maybe if they are around when the urge to binge rears it's ugly head, getting some support would be helpful.........I have noticed that the last few times I felt like binging was after speaking to MIL and just...
