Thread: Bill Lawrence pickups

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by D-log
Anyone tried out the L500 humbucker? I got offered one for a good price, and I want to know how they measure up to a Dimebucker. I cant find any reviews for Bill Lawrence pickups, so I need some opinions here. Thank you for your help

If the L500 is what was sold in the Washburn N2, it's a great humbucker. My N2 is from the early 90s, and it sounds great cranked, with the volume knob backed off, and in split mode. One of my favorite rock humbuckers.

Check out the link below, it should answer most of your questions...There are many people who swear by BL's pickups! http://guitarsbyfender.yuku.com/foru...ilde-Gate.h tml

I had the L500XL in my Jackson RR1 (alder/maple/ebony) and it was a bit sterile. I much prefer a JB in it. Depends what you're going for. If you like more of an 'active sound', you'll dig the BL's.

I have an L-500 in the neck position of my headless. It has a nice sweet sound. I did have to send one back due to a break in the wire, I never got the replacement. About that time my mom passed, so I didn't even think about it till much later.
