you the secret of my success or, as an alternative, I would sell it for
money.
Would never tell either. But, I think SEO is all the same - bigger companies just have more resources to throw at it.
My suggestion - do a web ssearch and compile all the SEO items that you can. Rank them based on what you think will work - then start trying them. if one does not work, scrap it and try another.
I am not a big SEO company but this method works well for me.

Think about it, I search for a business on google and google gives me a link to yellow pages...
If I wanted to look in yellow pages I would have gone to yellow pages and done a search on their site....
But if I am yellow pages selling premium listings on my site.. I am going to promote the fact my site is on the first page of Google...

From my experience bigger companies often get it very wrong and seem to know less about SEO than you could ever believe.

unfortunatly at lot of the traditional media agencies know jack about internet marketing.
I would not get them to do it for me....ever. They overcharge and do a bad job.
I would learn it yourself or do some market research into what people charge.

People offering to sell their SEO secrets make me smile. If you were the bee's knees at SEO would you tell anyone!? Maybe your own family ...
Sites that do very well (traffic stats tell it all?), have every page indexed (compare Yahoo and Google results to find out) and NEVER mention SEO know something special
Google's own advice is a good starting point, really ...
