Since everyone seems to be cutting corners this year, what's your best tip for saving money around the holidays?

Wow! I didn't think that woube such a tough question! Here's mine. I like to decorate with lots of natural greens, but they are very expensive - ranging from $20-50 for a small bunch depending on the type (I like to mix them up). That is a pretty imaginative of you! I mainly save $$s by being patient and waiting for a good coupon or sale on the things that I plan to buy. It can be nerve-wrackign though if you really want the item and are afraid that it will sell out. We also set a specific budget for each person that we buy for and we stick to it. My kids will make Christmas cards this year. I am sending photo cards so I plan on pricing out card stock to see if it is cheaper. Then they can glue stones on them or color or paint them :) I bought my wrapping paper and bows last year for 75 % off. I am using all silver and gold to decorate this year. I am just trying to space things out and plan ahead. I bought my neice and nephew a Wii. I bought it off of QVC (should I admit that) and did flex pay to spread out the payments. I ordered my Christmas cards yesterday as they had a 20% off coupon. I make a list for the girls so I don't keep picking up "just one more thing" and I look for coupons. The girls each get 3 gifts from Santa ...

This is related to decorating...... I gather pine cones throughout the warmer months outside on walks.  I've used them in all sorts of natural decorations such as adding to centerpieces on floral pics, around candle wreaths, door wreaths, pine cone trees, ornament crafts for my kids little trees, and shared them with the church for craft time around the Christmas holidays.    They can be ...
