Thread: Beretta 92FS

Why is this gun used so often in movies? They, along with Glocks and Desert Eagles, are probably the most seen handguns in TV and film.

Desert Eagles are common because they are so distinctive and large. I would say that Berettas are common because they were very popular semi-autos and when they came out I would bet Hollywood armorers bought a lot of them. As far as Glocks go, the Berettas are worn out and the Glock is a commonly used popular gun that is also cheaper than most other guns and still reliable.

I think the 92 is used so often because of its good looks.

Well, the military still uses it widely and several PD's used or still use it, so I imagine that would make it a pretty well known firearm. And the REAL reason.......... It's *****in!!

92's used because they are easily recognizable (used as US Military sidearm).

It's probably for people like me, who will go out and buy them. Honestly, I see every type of firearms in the movies. The three you mentioned are more common, and that is probably why you see more of them.

I only watch movies that feature H&K's and SIG's made during or before 2004.

Beretta's are damn sexy!

I think it has something to do with our military issue to our GI.

All Beretta's have an aluminum frame except the limited run Beretta Steel which comes either hard chromed or nickeled I believe. __________________ "They can take my guns when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers" -Charlton Heston
